Lobster Roll Recipe
A lobster roll is a type of sandwich where lobster and mayonnaise is used to fill a sandwich roll. In seaside areas where lobsters are readily available, most families have their own special lobster roll recipe. This is a very basic lobster roll recipe that can be elaborated endlessly by adding different spices, using other types of bread etcetera. It is for instance popular to add thinly sliced celery, green onions and chopped parsley. Dijon mustard is another great addition. This basic lobster roll recipe makes two servings.
Lobster roll recipe ingredients
8 ounces of cooked lobster meat
3 tablespoons of mayonnaise
Salt
Pepper
1 tablespoon of butter
2 hot dog rolls
1/2 head of butter lettuce
Lobster roll recipe preparation
- Place the butter in room temperature.
- Tear the lobster meat into bite-size pieces. It is important that the meat has been allowed to cool off after being boiled.
- Thinly slice the butter lettuce.
- Mix lobster meat and mayonnaise in a large bowl.
- Stir in salt and pepper to taste.
- Use the soft butter to butter the outside surface of the hot dog rolls.
- Heat up a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Put the hot dog rolls with one buttered side down in the skillet and leave them there until they have become slightly browned. Turn and do the other side. It will normally take 2 minutes per side.
- Remove the rolls from the skillet and fill them with the thinly sliced lettuce.
- Add lobster mix to the rolls.
- Serve.
